Creator Statement

I wrote this labor of love during the WGA/SAG strike, and attempted to put together a team to help me shoot it. Dates and availability shifted, so it was hard to bring the team in alignment. The next time I attempted to put the team together, a friend said “I think you should do it yourself.” So I did.

I continued the conversation with my collaborators, sending them test shots and camera placements as I attempted the task, and they helped me, pointing out better light placement, color choices, different little pieces to help improve things. In reflection, their advice was critical. And then, at the start of 2024, I stopped chasing perfection, shot it, and edited it, on my own.

This process truly helped me appreciate the level work that so many people do to bring a film to life, and how you have to roll with what comes. I told the story I wanted to tell, and through this little short, I hope people see a reflection of themselves as they attempt to accomplish things in life, that matter.
